Concentration Update
My concentration focuses on layer by covering up and revealing things to
get the outcome that I want. I also incorporate drawings in ink that I
think add more character to my pieces and make them more interesting too
look at. I was watching this documentary on Beyonce today and she said
something like art doesn't always have to mean something it is something
that just comes from your heart and is something that you love. That's
not exactly what she said but i liked it and that's kinda how i feel
about my concentration. I have a hard time telling people what it is
that I'm doing but I really love what I'm am doing with art this year
and it makes me happy.
This piece is my most current piece. I think it feels different than my other ones but not necessarily in a bad way. I don't think I'm completely finished with it yet and I think I'm going to change the color of the orange diamond because I don't like it very much it's feels clashy. This piece just needs some work. I'm getting into incorporating a darker background though because I like the contrast. Sorry the quality is bad the lighting in my room is horrible and it was taken on a phone.

Hi Katie! I just wanted to say that I really like your new painting. I feel like there is a story behind it, even if that 's not what you're going for! It is great when you can just enjoy painting, but it is even greater when the people that view your art think about it. I feel like that orange diamond is some sort of window into some other world, and if I were you, I would keep it there! I don't know, though... It's your painting! ReplyDeleteI really love this piece, Katie! I like that it's different but still fits with your concentration. I also love the diamonds and the big strip of white going through it because they definitely make it more visually interesting. I also think it's really great that you used a lot of dark grey/black in this piece because most of your others are very bright. Sometimes the drawings can be a little too much and overwhelming, but other than that it looks great. Keep it up!
